Sarah the Scrooge

I hope everyone is having great family time and happiness during this holiday season.

Although most people put all disdain for others away during this joyous time of year, ex-Governor Sarah Palin put on her best Grinch face and found her inner-Scrooge (I'm sure it wasn't that hard for her to find) to blast the Obama Christmas card. The card shows Bo Obama laying near the fireplace in a decorated room. Poinsettias sit on a table surrounded by gifts in the seemingly warm, comfortable room.

Palin went on Fox News radio to criticize the Obama card. She called it "odd" that the card emphasizes the dog instead of traditions like "family, faith and freedom."

Seems like Palin is still trying to keep her talking points and "Mama Grizzly" values in which she's made millions of dollars from alive while the other GOP eels battle for the Presidential nomination. Too bad no one cares. Palin is the GOP and Tea-baggers used toy that they no longer want to play with. She is desperately trying to focus the attention back to her by attacking Obama's....Christmas card.

Hope you're enjoying the stocking of coal Santa left you, Sarah.

The Tea Party is....Racist. Duhhhhh

Recently came across this video of the talented Morgan Freeman stating what most liberals have realized all along....the Tea Party is....racist. I'm sure Mr. Freeman has known this ...but he's gone public about the topic with Piers Morgan:
I thought it was obvious the Tea Party was racist when they:
-held up racist signs about Obama at Tea Party rallies
-spit on black congressmen walking up the Capitol's steps
-have all white people at rallies

The tea baggers are those old democrats of the Civil War South.....they hate government, black people, abortion, and the gays....and love their guns and of course God.

Carry on....

Afternoon Thoughts

After watching last night's corrupt GOP debate in Florida, I've decided that unless the unemployment rates rise dramatically or the economy crashes and burns majorly, Obama will win reelection. For awhile, Obama was trying to appease to republicans and conservative independents -- a task that makes skiing uphill look easy, but has since realized his liberal base was crumbling. From the new tax proposals to the jobs/stimulus package, Obama has slowly began reeling in the frustrated liberals...including myself.

I find it funny how those rich republicans are just so against taxes, yet are so patriotic and "American-lovin'" .....ya....we know. Except if you really did love America, and you were serious about getting us out of debt, you'd pay your fair share and percent in taxes.
My dear republican readers...if there are any....your love child Ronald Reagan raised taxes 11 times! At what point to you stop convincing yourself Obama is a socialist who wants to steal your money and kill your babies, and realize that he is trying to help the country?

To the republican congressmen and women.... by blocking everything Obama proposes ...YES you are failing his proposals to help this country...but my dear patriotic, America-lovin' friends, you are also making this great country fail. You may disagree with his politics, but we need to support our president and our country to succeed.

Never Forget

September 11, 2001 seems like yesterday. At least I remember that day like it was yesterday. I was at an age where I understood what was happening. At the time, our teachers didn't inform us of the events. I remember, the kids whose parents served in the National Guard came in over the lunch period and hugged their children....not knowing where they would be sent or when they'd be back. When I got home from school, I turned on the television and was horrifically mesmorized. For the next three hours I watched CNN recount the events.
Six years later, I got the opportunity to go to New York City and visit the World Trade Center site. It was an eerie place. We got a tour of the area and outside of the site. Some of the surrounding buildings were still being renovated and badly damaged. Teeth and bone fragments were still being found in the surrounding buildings.
My  stomach still aches at the thought.

Today, I watched many shows depicting those events. I will never forget where I was. No one will.
Ten years ago our country was forever changed. However, it united us and made us come together and be proud of who we are as Americans. God bless the victims, the first responders, and America.
Never Forget.

The Appeal of Mila Kunis

A recent article from Politico revealed what every liberal had hoped: Mila Kunis is one of us. . . well at least an Obama supporter.

Politico:

Chin up Mr. President. The Sundance Kid may be rather disappointed in you but Mila Kunis still loves you. Yes, that Mila Kunis. From “Black Swan” and Marine Corps Ball viral video fame.
“I love Barack Obama, I voted for him and I will forever be proud of my vote," Kunis told the UK’s Stylist magazine.

The actress, 28, was promoting her new romcom, “Friends with Benefits,” but half the interview focused on politics. “How do you feel about the US debt crisis?” the interviewer asked. Not your typical Hollywood starlet question, but Kunis was happy to play ball.

“I think America is in a very temperamental state, and the decision that was made and the compromises made mean, in my opinion, that people are going to pay for a very long time,” said the actress.

Then she gave a nod to Obama for his efforts: “I know that he [Obama] tried. I know because you keep reading these reports of him trying to compromise with the Tea Party and the Republican Party and trying to come to a 50/50 agreement. I don’t think it was one. I feel the Democratic Party compromised everything and the Republican Party compromised pretty much nothing.”

When the interviewer called many young people “politically unaware,” Kunis agreed and said, “you are given such an amazing opportunity with so much information. Why is no-one taking advantage of it? You don’t have to watch Fox News or CNN or MSNBC; you don’t have to be part of a political party, you could just read.”

She chided the younger generation for not reading books, the news, the paper, and then zoned in on “Middle America.” “So obviously you are incredibly ill-informed to the point where they will go do these tests in Middle America… And they’ll ask, ‘OK, what party are you?’ And they’ll say, ‘Republican.’ ‘Why?’ And they can’t even tell you. They have no idea what the Republican Party stands for. Why did I vote for Obama? I can tell you why I voted for him, what I agreed and disagreed with him on, for hours.”

Her advice for the youth of today: “Whoever you vote for, don’t do it just because. And don’t tell me it’s because of religion either because that whole thing is knocked completely out the window. So you better just educate yourself.”-

Wow. Thank you Mila. You hit it right on the head. Growing up in the mid-west, this is what I dealt with every day. "Ill informed"...or simply brainwashed by their parents to the point of no return. Yes, Mila Kunis is an incredibly talented and extremely attractive actress, however the main reason I posted this is because she sums up the stupidity of so many people in my native region of our country. Obviously there are the few who stand out and know what the GOP stands for, but a majority that I know and knew, don't.

The BEST part of Mila Kunis being an Obama supporter is watching the scrubs at Big Hollywood scramble and become at a loss for words over this news....Why? Because awhile back, Kunis accepted an invitation to a military ball --- which is really cool and respectable for notable actress. During this time, the right-wingers at Big Hollywood convinced themselves that Kunis was a....wait for it....Hollywood conservative because she supported the military. Well, most liberals support or have some amount of support for our military. What the majority of liberals don't support is war. It is so fun watching Big Hollywood hang its head in defeat and then lashing out at her, for her views. They wanted to add her to the list of "hot" female republicans.

I hope to see more interviews by Mila Kunis about her support of President Obama and the ignorance of the GOP.

President Huntsman? Impossible With the Current GOP

If Republicans were smart, they'd nominate Jon Huntsman to go up against Barack Obama in 2012. The majority of Huntsman's values are conservative, however he has had liberal...I mean common sense views on global warming and evolution. Not to mention his power and work as a U.S. Ambassador to China.

Huntsman recently said he would call on the wealthy to "sacrifice".

"As president, I wouldnt hesitate to call on a sacrifice from all of our people, even those at the very highest end of the income spectrum,” Huntsman said.

The reason the GOP would be wise to put Huntsman up against Obama, is because Huntsman could possibly win over disappointed, centrist democrats as well as the undecided independents. The average undecided American voter isn't going to vote for someone who is bulldozing and then expanding their $12 million dollar beach house, or someone who is promising to lower gas prices below $2 a gallon. These average undecided American voters don't want a candidate whose sole focus is restricting abortions or banning the construction and support of Muslim Mosques. They are looking to vote for a candidate who has common sense and is down to earth. If the Republican Party puts up a candidate that doesn't hold such common sense values and is making "out-of-this-world" promises, then those average undecided American voters will vote for Barack Obama who is down to earth and has an agenda that is not batshit crazy. Those frustrated liberals and centrist democrats will also support Obama, knowing that the alternative will destroy this wonderful country of ours.

Romney Real Estate

I find it very odd that the Romney family plans bulldoze and then expand their $12,000,000 La Jolla, CA beach house, in a time when millions of Americans are living paycheck to paycheck. Romney NEEDS to win over independent votes to succeed in taking over the White House in 2012. Many on the right are like Romney and have multi-million dollar mansions from coast to coast. He'll get their votes. However, the majority of independents are looking for a candidate that is somewhat "like" the average person in America, not someone who is rebuilding mansions. They want someone who understands them and the problems they're going through.
* It also is important to note that Mr. Romney may be worth up to a quarter of a billion dollars.

Remember in the 2008 election when it was revealed that John McCain had somewhere between four and seven houses around the country?! That turned a lot of independent voters away from McCain, because so many Americans were hurting around the country.

The Romney's own multiple properties around the country. They can. They have the money. However, they may want to wait until after the election to expand and transform their beachfront mansion from 3,009-square-feet to 11,062-square-feet.

Actually, no....go ahead and expand. Make sure you let everyone know how rich your family is. Especially the undecided independent votes.

I Miss the W

I was just watching The Ed Show on MSNBC. Ed just aired one of my favorite videos:

Ok...I miss him. Not his presidency, just his -isms.

Here are some more classics from our forty-third President.

More Hollywood Love for Obama

Hollywood is just beginning to open their wallets for President Obama's reelection.

Politico:

“This is a pretty good looking crowd,” Obama said at a New York fundraiser Thursday night.

When the guest list includes names like Gwyneth Paltrow, her husband Chris Martin, Jimmy Fallon, Vera Wang, Anna Wintour and Alicia Keys, the president could be accused of understatement.

Hundreds of people packed the streets of the West Village and police marksmen stood on rooftops as Obama arrived at the residence of media mogul Harvey Weinstein, according to pool reports.

The president addressed about 50 guests who sat in tables of ten. Tickets were $35,800 according to a Democratic official, with the first $5000 of each ticket going to the Obama Victory Fund and the rest to the DNC. The president earlier had addressed a small, separate gathering of 15 at the Ritz Carlton hotel.

The president spoke on debt, the economy and his reelection campaign, and commented on his own lack of cool factor with the electorate this time around.

“They have still got the Obama poster, it is all frayed. Obama is gray haired, he doesn’t seem as cool,” he said. “In some ways that is a healthy thing. Because in 2012… we realize it is about us.. It is not about my election. One person.”

Maybe he hopes the electorate will judge him by the company he keeps.

Liberals at Lollapalooza

I recently attended Chicago's Lollapalooza music festival, where musicians such as Eminem, Coldplay, Foo Fighters, Muse, Cee Lo, Foster the People, Kid Cudi, Noah and the Whale, Deadmau5, and The Cars entertained an estimated 270,000 people over three days. My observations included a lot of hipsters and hippies, marijuana, alcohol, and people having a great time. I was only a participant of the latter, but also noticed a lot of the entertainers expressing their political views. Coldplay's Chris Martin, husband to actress Gwyneth Paltrow, introduced "Us Against The World" by describing it as a love song about an affair between right-wing Fox News pundit Bill O'Reilly and Sarah Palin, saying that he hoped their romance would help them see the world in a different way.
(Paltrow/Martin above ---- nice shirt Chris)

As I walked around Grant Park near downtown Chicago, there was a section -- a very liberal section that was all about "green" stuff and helping the environment and whatnot, as well as helping impoverished people around the world. There was a huge urge to recycle all recyclable materials. People who wanted a free t-shirt were given a large green bag. Once they came back with a filled bag of cans, bottles, and plastic they received a free Lollapalooza t-shirt.
Rounding out the festival was Deadmau5, an electric/dubstep remix musician. I had never heard of him before, but it was pretty awesome. My favorite moment was when he remixed the classic Bill O'Reilly freak out (Below).
In all Lollapalooza was one of the greatest experiences of my life. The liberal references were a plus, but in all it was one hell of a weekend. If you ever get an opportunity to attend .... DO IT!

You disagree with me? You're anti-American!

Yesterday South Carolina Senator Jim DeMint called the Obama administration "the most anti-American administration" in his lifetime. Personally, I don't think it's appropriate to call someone or a group of people anti-American unless they are the likes of the 9/11 terrorists who have a serious thought of hurting the people of this country. Republicans are going to disagree with ideas and policies presented by democrats. Democrats are going to disagree with ideas and policies presented by republicans. That's normal. However, to call our President anti-American?
During the eight LLLOOOOONNNNNGGGGG years of George W. Bush, I never called or even thought of President Bush as anti-American. I disagreed with most of his policies but that label never crossed my mind. The "evil liberal media" always seems to pick up on conservatives pointing the finger or suggesting that certain individuals, mainly on the left are anti-American. Why? Why must they play that card while politicking? I don't recall hearing a liberal or someone on the left ever pointing such a finger. It seems to be another scare tactic republicans attempt to use to scare the old folks. Lame.
In other news Texas Governor Rick Perry is jumping into the race for the GOP presidential nomination. The same man who juggled the idea of Texas seceding from the union a few years ago. How very American.

Obama's Hollywood Money Flow

I know this is a couple of weeks late, but I wanted to put this up.

Hollywood is once again opening their wallets for Barack Obama.

According to Politico:

President Barack Obama’s latest fundraising report resembles an A-list of Hollywood stars, with donations from some of the top celebrities in the entertainment industry.

Among the more than 550,000 donors to the president’s 2012 reelection bid were big-name movie stars including actors George Clooney, Michael Douglas, Sharon Stone, Michael Keaton, Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson. Filmmaker Steven Spielberg and his wife, actress Kate Capshaw, also gave to the 2012 campaign, according to the latest Federal Election Commission report. Jennifer Garner and Gwyneth Paltrow both contributed under their married names —Affleck and Martin, respectively.

30 Rock” actor Alec Baldwin, who has often toyed with a potential political run, also shelled out cash for Obama’s second-quarter fundraising haul. And several other TV actors — such as “Monk”’s Tony Shalhoub, “Glee”’s Jane Lynch, “24”’s president Dennis Haysbert and sci-fi stars Scott Bakula and Richard Dean Anderson — joined Baldwin in contributing to the president’s reelection bid.

Comedians Will Ferrell, Carl Reiner and “The Simpsons”’s Yeardley Smith also doled out money for Obama, whose campaign attracted a record-breaking $86 million in donations.

According to the July quarterly report, the president’s reelection campaign raised $47 million, while the Democratic National Committee raised $38 million through Obama’s joint committee.
About 40 percent of the president’s record-breaking take came from big-money bundlers, according to a POLITICO analysis of donors listed on Obama’s campaign web site. Among those bundlers were top Hollywood insiders Andy Spahn, Ari Emanuel and Jeffrey Katzenberg.

Spahn — an entertainment consultant who was appointed in 2008 to the President’s Commission on Arts and Humanities —brought in over $500,000 in the last quarter. Katzenberg, a Hollywood mogul and DreamWorks Animation CEO, also appears in the group of bundlers who’ve raised over $500,000.
Emanuel, who served as the inspiration for “Entourage”’s movie agent Ari Gold, raised between $50,000-$100,000 for his brother Rahm’s former boss.

Obama’s campaign also pulled in a number of other actors and familiar faces, such as Vanessa Williams, Anthony Edwards of “ER”, “Star Trek”’s John Cho, “House”’s Jennifer Morrison, “Cougar Town”’s Christa Miller, Brenda Strong of “Desperate Housewives” and Wayne Wilderson, the actor who portrays the grapes in Fruit of the Loom commercials.

  • Along with Politico's findings, other donors and supporters in the entertainment industry include, singer and actress Beyonce, Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour and actor Neil Patrick Harris.
  • Some industry power players have been critical of Obama, but have said they'll still support him, include actor Matt Damon and rapper Jay-Z.

Beck the Buffoon

Just days after the horrific massacre of nearly 80 individuals at a camp in Norway, the always unpredictable and insensitive Glenn Beck suggested that the children at the camp were comparable to the Hitler Youth. Just hours after the tragic incident occurred, the media revealed that the camp  was run by Norway's leading center-left party, the Labor Party, and that it was preparing young adults for the political arena. During his radio show, Beck said:
"...sounds a little like the Hitler Youth. I mean, who does a camp for kids that's all about politics? Disturbing."

First of all, really Glenn? In this day of age, is it ever appropriate to compare...anything to Hitler or the Nazis? Never. It just kindles the fire of hate.

Second, for someone who is so "knowledgeable" and "in-touch" with the political scene, you would think he would know that both major political parties hold "camps" in most states around the U.S. for youth that are interested or looking to get involved in politics.

Third: Glenn, you have no soul. 80 people lost their lives to a terrorist who went on a killing rampage for nearly two hours. He expressed a FAR RIGHT point of view and wanted to provoke a war against the European Muslim immigrants. You owe an apology to the victims and their families for your toxic rhetoric that only insinuates more hate.

The Undeserving Pie

I can't say I'm surprised that Rupert Murdoch's News of the World was hacking into voice mails of royalty, celebrity and ...murder victims. However I was put a bit out of place today when I saw the video of 80 year old media power-player getting pied in the face during his hearing in Britain today. Although many of his controlled media outlets have conservative and extreme conservative stances, I was a little upset seeing him pied. I don't think of him as evil, but rather genius. He has transformed NewsCorps. into a competitive media conglomerate over the last few decades. If he is found guilty of "knowing" or authorizing such sleazy tactics within his media empire, my opinion of him will shift from negative to disgusting.
Yet, to pie an 80 year old man seems a little ridiculous. I'd rather see Rebekah Brooks get it. Unless other hacking scandals surface from other NewsCorps. media outlets, I don't believe Murdoch knew about the hacking dilemma at News of the World.

Big Hollywood Is Crying...Again

Those liberals in Hollywood just keep getting Andrew Breitbart's right-wing Big Hollywood contributors all bent out of shape.
Conan O'Brien tweeted:

The Big Hollywood post was furious that he would say such a thing.
A. He is a comedian. B. These two women have got more historical facts and dates wrong than all democrats combined. If there were individuals on the left making similar catastrophically wrong historical mishaps, then I'm sure Conan would crack a joke about them. Come on people.

The post also went by pointing out the education both of these women have had. This makes them....smart. Ok. Right. Let me point out the obvious. It doesn't really matter what sort of education you've had or what degrees you hold....it's what came out of your mouth. I'm sure both of these women are smart....deep ...deep down.

Big Hollywood's Big Obsession

After skimming through Andrew Breitbart's Big Hollywood extreme right leaning blog, I came across a scathing review of the new film "Bad Teacher" starring Cameron Diaz, Justin Timberlake, and Jason Segel. One thing this far right blog focuses on are the conservative films, players and values in Hollywood and the entertainment industry. It is no secret the vast majority in the entertainment industry lean left and are quite active in the political arena. This blog pathetically attempts to pick out right wing values from the handful of republicans in Hollywood and from films that depict conservative values.
After recently seeing the film "Bad Teacher", I was interested in reading what Big Hollywood contributor John P. Hanlon had to say about it. In his post ‘Bad Teacher’ Review: Hey Teacher, Leave Us Moviegoers Alone, Hanlon summarizes and critiques the film in a mostly fair way. I'll be honest, I respect opinions of others, especially when reviewing film, however what gets me about this post is how these right wing nuts latch onto ANY "conservative" point within a film. In the film there is a pro-life reference which goes along with Justin Timberlake's hilarious character. Hanlon implicates this point into his review of the film. Most people reviewing films would care less about such a "reference", however the people over at Big Hollywood are obsessed with any sort of reference to their passionate beliefs of abortion. You're probably thinking "Why does he care so much?" I care because it is a pointless implication into the review and the far right at that blog are obsessed with having a conservative reference or voice in Hollywood. The fact of the matter is, Hollywood is liberal and it will most likely continue to be liberal. So if that's what those people want to waste their time on....searching and picking out conservative messages and references in film and the entertainment industry, then life is quite boring for them. Find another hobby.
